Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, one of the top schools in East Delhi, recently held a comprehensive workshop in their school auditorium to raise awareness among teachers about the New National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The workshop was facilitated by Manisha Sharma and Jyoti Sharma, renowned experts in competency-building programs.
The event aimed to familiarize educators with the policy’s intricate details, curriculum changes, pedagogical shifts, and its holistic implementation for student development. During the event, Manisha Sharma provided an in-depth discussion on the new 5+3+3+4 structure, highlighting its emphasis on vocational education, holistic and multidisciplinary learning, and the introduction of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) starting from age 3. She underscored the importance of achieving foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by 2025 and the policy’s focus on reducing rote learning.
The session concluded with interactive group presentations by all the teachers on various topics assigned by the facilitators, including ECCE, Inclusion, Multidisciplinary Learning, and Multilingualism. These presentations demonstrated the teachers’ understanding and preparedness to implement the NEP 2020 in their classrooms.
