Pune, Hinjawadi, October 18th, 2024 – Ryan International Academy, Hinjawadi successfully hosted its annual Conqueror’s Cup, an inter school sports tournament, on October 14-15, 2024. The event brought together 250 students from 10 schools in Pune, Hinjawadi showcasing young talent in swimming, skating, basketball, and futsal across various categories.
The tournament commenced with an inspiring opening ceremony graced by distinguished guests, including Colonel Mishra and Ms. Shweta Avadh, an esteemed International fencer. Both guests emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving goals, whether in the army or sports.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from leading schools of Pune, including VIBGYOR, ElPRO, EURO, BLUE RIDGE, Ryan International School Bavdhan, Ryan International Academy Bavdhan, Ryan International Academy Wagholi, Mount Litera, and Bliss International.
A unique feature of this year’s tournament was a fencing presentation by Olympians, adding an extra layer of inspiration for the young athletes. The event also included cultural performances such as flag dance, welcome song and dance, pyramid dance, sports dance, and a flash mob for all participants.
Sonika Kochhar Girotra, Principal, Ryan International Academy, Hinjawadi, expressed her enthusiasm for the event’s success: “The Conqueror’s Cup 2024 has been a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among our young athletes. The closing ceremony was graced by Ms. Deshna Nahar, a Guinness World Record holder in skating, and Mr. Sagar Kambale, an accomplished international swimmer. Their words of encouragement resonated with the participants, highlighting the significance of dedication and hard work in achieving excellence.
At the conclusion of this thrilling event, Ryan International Academy and Bliss International School, Hinjawadi, emerged as joint winners of the Conqueror’s Cup. The winners were determined based on the total tallies awarded for every bout won throughout the tournament.
“The joint winners of the Trophy loved the energy of the participants and have said they will look forward to the tournament year after year,” said one of the participants for the event. ooking ahead, organizers plan to expand the tournament’s reach to include more schools in future years, building on the success of this year’s event.
