Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, Organises Painting Competition for School Students to Mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month

New Delhi, October 19, 2026: Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Model Town, organised a painting competition for students of Chotu Ram Public School and Tyagi Shivaya modern School on Saturday, October 17, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, highlight the importance of early detection, and encourage students to spread health awareness within their families and communities through creative expression.

A total of 76 students participated in the initiative, including 28 students from Chotu Ram Public School and 48 students from Tyagi Shivaya Modern School, along with members of Shakti Nagar RWA, Kewal Park Residents welfare associations and Model Town Federation. Participants enthusiastically used colours and artwork to convey messages related to breast cancer awareness, women's health, early diagnosis, and the importance of timely medical consultation. Through their paintings, they highlighted the importance of staying informed, supporting those affected by the disease, and encouraging women to prioritise their health.

The activity was designed to introduce students to an important health issue in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. By involving young minds and society members in awareness initiatives, the hospital sought to encourage conversations around breast cancer and spread the message that awareness and timely medical attention can make a significant difference.

Breast cancer remains an important public health concern, and awareness of its symptoms and risk factors plays a crucial role in promoting timely medical evaluation. Women should seek medical advice if they notice unusual changes in their breasts, including a lump, changes in shape or size, skin changes, or nipple discharge. While not every change indicates cancer, it is important not to ignore unusual symptoms. Regular medical consultations and screening, as recommended by healthcare professionals, can also support early detection.

Speaking on the occasion, Renu Tyagi, Facility DIrector  Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, said, “Raising awareness about breast cancer is essential, and it is important to start these conversations at the community level. Through this painting competition, we wanted to encourage students to understand the importance of women's health and become ambassadors of awareness among their families and friends. Children can play a meaningful role in spreading important health messages. We hope this initiative encourages more people to talk openly about breast cancer, recognise the importance of early detection, and seek timely medical advice whenever required.”

Through such community outreach initiatives, Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, continues to emphasise the importance of health education and preventive awareness. The painting competition provided students and society members with a platform to combine creativity with a meaningful social message, contributing to wider awareness about breast cancer during the awareness month.
