Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus organized the 5th Biennial International Conference on “Future Learning Aspects of Mechanical Engineering (FLAME-2026)”, sponsored by ‘Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), from 9th to 11th September 2025. The Conference brought together distinguished experts from premier institutions and organizations including IITs, ISRO, CSIR, DRDO, leading industries, and reputed international institutions.
Addressing the students, Prof. (Dr.) Márton TAKÁCS, Head - Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary, averred, “Amity University has been a trusted partner of Budapest University of Technology and Economics. A conference is not only about presentations and research papers, but also about building strong connections and exchanging knowledge and learning.” He called upon the students to be curious, ask questions and build international connections.
Advising the students, Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) J Ram Kumar, Dean Infrastructure, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, averred, “Students must try to learn one foreign language, one skill, and adopt one person in their society and try to mentor that persona and help them by offering guidance and support.”
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, stated, “The Conference has set a new benchmark. Mechanical Engineering is more in demand now than ever. Manufacturing industry is based on mechanical engineering and there has been a rise in the number of students opting for Mechanical Engineering. More collaboration between the industry and academia is required and Conferences such as FLAME help in fostering such collaborations.”
Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Noida, noted, “AI is disrupting Mechanical Engineering in a big way. The knowledge shared by the industry experts during the Conference will be immensely beneficial for the students.”
During the Valedictory Ceremony, Dr. Ádám Jacsó, Associate Professor, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary was bestowed with Honorary Professorship, in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contribution.
Welcoming the guests, Dr. Basant Singh Sikarwar, Head- Mechanical Engineering Department, Amity University Noida, said, “FLAME is a well-established international platform bringing together eminent academicians, researchers, scientists, industry experts, and students to deliberate upon emerging technologies, sustainable solutions, and future-ready developments in Mechanical Engineering and allied disciplines. The Conference was highly successful, and more than 400 research papers were submitted, out of which more than 150 papers were selected.”
