Marking the celebration of the International Day of Yoga, Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus, organized a grand Yoga session on campus, bringing together students, faculty members, and researchers in a collective effort to embrace the ancient Indian practice that fosters physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual balance. The participants joined the nationwide celebrations through a live screening of the International Day of Yoga event in Kolkata, led by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, reaffirming their commitment to the message of wellness, mindfulness, and holistic living.
Speaking on the significance of Yoga in contemporary life, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, stated, “Yoga is one of the most profound gifts of Indian culture to the world, embodying the timeless wisdom of our civilization. Rooted in the values of harmony, self-discipline, and holistic well-being, Yoga continues to guide humanity towards a healthier, more balanced, and purposeful way of life. The programme included Yoga and meditation sessions conducted by Yoga instructors Dr. Sonia Diman and Dr. Kavita Bhandari, who demonstrated various asanas, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. Participants actively engaged in the session, reaffirming their commitment to adopting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Through such initiatives, the University continues to inspire students to cultivate discipline, mindfulness, physical and mental well-being.
The Programme was held under the mentorship of Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Mentor, Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine (AIISM). Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sanjay Singh, Associate Professor, AIISM, Dr. Umesh Kumar, Assistant Professor AIISM, faculty and students.
