In a world where stories shape minds and imagination builds futures, Birla Open Minds International School brought the magic of books alive through a vibrant and engaging celebration of World Book Day on 23rd April. The morning session across all its schools witnessed an inspiring initiative titled “Tales Take Turns!”, a joyful ode to reading, sharing, and discovering new worlds through stories.
Designed to nurture a lifelong love for reading, the activity encouraged students to step beyond their usual choices and explore diverse perspectives. With storybooks in hand, young readers entered classrooms transformed into spaces of curiosity and creativity. The simple yet powerful act of exchanging books with classmates opened doors to new narratives, characters, and ideas, making reading a shared and enriching experience.
As students immersed themselves in stories, teachers facilitated thoughtful interactions, encouraging them to reflect on what they read, express their understanding, and connect with the essence of each tale. The activity not only strengthened reading habits but also enhanced comprehension, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr Yatharth Gautam, Director and COO, Birla Open Minds, shared: “Books have the power to shape perspectives and ignite imagination. Through ‘Tales Take Turns!’, we aim to make reading a joyful and shared experience for every child. When students exchange stories, they also exchange ideas, emotions, and new ways of thinking. This initiative helps build empathy, creativity, and confidence among learners. At our school, we believe that nurturing a reading culture today will empower thoughtful leaders of tomorrow.”
Through such thoughtfully curated initiatives, Birla Open Minds continues to reinforce its commitment to holistic education, where learning goes beyond textbooks and into the realm of imagination, empathy, and lifelong growth.
