Pimpri, Pune, 15 September 2026: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, in association with Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU), by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, today welcomed Smt. Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, for the inauguration of several new units and facilities on campus. The event brought together dignitaries, faculty and staff from across DPU and Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU) for the launch of the newly developed facilities at the Medical College.
The ceremony was graced by Smt. Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Prakash Abitkar, Hon'ble Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra, who attended as the Guest of Honour. The function was presided over by Dr. P. D. Patil, Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagyashree P. Patil, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Hon’ble Pro Chancellor Dnyaan Prasad Global University, Dr. Smita Jadhav, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth and Dr. Yashraj P. Patil, Hon’ble Secretary, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Society.
The proceedings began at 3:00 PM with the arrival of the dignitaries at the Medical College, followed by the formal inauguration and a guided visit to the newly developed facilities across Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College and Hospital. The dignitaries were taken through the various departments and units, getting a first-hand view of the upgraded infrastructure now available to patients, students and faculty alike.
The programme then moved to the Auditorium on the 4th Floor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth where the main ceremony was held in the presence of Deans, Directors, Principals, Heads of Departments, faculty members, officers, and teaching, non-teaching and administrative staff from across DPU and Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU).
The event was attended in large numbers, reflecting the collective enthusiasm of the DPU and DPGU community in celebrating this important addition to its healthcare and academic infrastructure.
