Kolkata, September 26, 2026: Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, hosted its Degree Award Distribution Ceremony 2026 at the GNIT campus in Kolkata, celebrating the academic achievements of its graduating batches of 2023, 2024 and 2025. The ceremony brought together graduates, their families, faculty members and members of the JIS Group fraternity to mark an important milestone in the students’ academic journey. The event was graced by dignitaries including Prof. Tapas Chakraborty, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal; Dr. Neeraj Saxena, Chairman & Pro-Chancellor, JIS University; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Prof. (Dr.) Ram Krishna Sen, Faculty of Bio Science and Bio Technology, IIT Kharagpur; Prof. (Dr.) Krishnendu Chakraborty, Principal, Government College of Engineering & Ceramic Technology; Prof. (Dr.) Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, GNIT; and along with senior members of the JIS Group and GNIT fraternity.
The ceremony celebrated more than the conferral of degrees, recognising the perseverance, learning and aspirations of the graduates as they prepared to embark on the next phase of their professional journeys. The occasion also highlighted the role of education in equipping young minds with knowledge, skills and values to contribute meaningfully to industry, society and the nation.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the faculty and institution in nurturing the graduates through their academic journey. As the students transitioned from campus life to new professional opportunities, the occasion marked both an academic milestone and the beginning of a new chapter.
