India’s Test-Preparation Industry Poised for Strong Growth Through FY30

New Delhi, August 14, 2026: India’s competitive exam preparation industry is emerging as a major education economy, with the market projected to expand to $23–26 billion by FY30, according to a report by Redseer Strategy Consultants. The market was estimated at around $14.8 billion in FY26, implying annual growth of roughly 12–15 per cent.

The expansion is being driven by a growing pool of aspirants, wider adoption of organised coaching and increasing expenditure by students and families on structured preparation. Digital connectivity has also made test-preparation content accessible to students beyond traditional coaching centres and major education hubs.

JEE and NEET remain the biggest contributors to undergraduate entrance preparation, together accounting for nearly 70 per cent of the segment. The undergraduate entrance preparation market itself is expected to rise from about $3.8 billion in FY26 to $6.5–7 billion by FY30.

The report also indicates that students are becoming more selective about coaching providers. Among offline learners, 57 per cent identified faculty quality as one of their top three considerations, while 44 per cent pointed to previous ranks and results. For students targeting ranks below 1,000, these factors become even more important.

The findings suggest that the next phase of India's coaching industry will be shaped less by scale alone and more by measurable academic outcomes, strong faculty and technology-enabled personalised learning.
