New Delhi, Aug 6: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the online counselling process for NEET UG 2026 admissions, opening the next phase for thousands of medical aspirants seeking seats in undergraduate medical programmes across the country.

The counselling is being conducted for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats in medical and dental colleges. The process will also facilitate admissions to 100 per cent seats in deemed universities, AIIMS institutions and JIPMER campuses located in Puducherry and Karaikal.
This year, MCC has introduced a one-time physical reporting system for candidates after seat allotment. The move is aimed at making the admission process more convenient for students by reducing repeated institutional visits while ensuring proper verification and completion of admission formalities.
The new reporting mechanism is expected to streamline the joining process and provide greater clarity for candidates during the final stages of admission.
Students participating in the counselling process have been advised to carefully check the official schedule, complete registration within the specified timelines and keep necessary documents ready for verification.
NEET UG counselling is a crucial step in medical admissions, allowing eligible candidates to secure seats based on their merit, preferences and availability of seats across participating institutions.
