TAPMI welcomes 521 students in 2024-26 batch of MBA at the induction programmeManipal, June 28, 2024: T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), one of India’s premier B-school with the prestigious double crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA) commenced the academic year for the batch 2024-26. TAPMI welcomed the 42nd batch of MBA, 11th batch of MBA – Banking & Financial Services (BKFS), 7th batch of MBA – Human Resources (HRM), 6th batch of MBA- Marketing and 3rd batch of MBA – International Business.

The batch comprises 369 students in the core MBA program, 58 in the BKFS program, 35 in the HRM program, 36 in the Marketing program and 23 in the International Business program .The 521-strong batch has students from diverse educational backgrounds 34% from engineering, 27% from commerce and 18% from management with representation from 25 states and UTs of India. The percentage of female students is 48%.

Welcoming the new batch, Prof. Rajeev Kumra, Director TAPMI, outlined the legacy of the founder Shri T A Pai and said, “This is an exciting time to launch your careers, embrace every opportunity that comes your way during this two-year journey. Explore different avenues, discover your passions, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. This is a time to learn, grow, and make lifelong connections. So, worry less, enjoy the journey, and make the most of every day!”

The Chief Guest, Mr. Nikhil Sharma (Alumnus – batch 1997-99), Managing Director, Perfetti Van Melle, India, shared his experiences at TAPMI. He shared his life experiences to deliver seven key learnings to the students.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director, Perfetti Van Melle, India said, “Congratulations to the new MBA class at TAPMI! Embrace the learnings from both successes and setbacks. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and contribute to your organization beyond just your assigned tasks. As you embark on your summer internships, approach them with a focus on maximizing your learning, whether it confirms your passion for a particular field or helps you eliminate options. Welcome to the world of business, a journey filled with experiences that will shape your future”

The Guest of Honour, Ms. Saraswati Chandrasekharan (Alumna – batch 2002-04), Assistant Vice President, Sr. principal, Organization Development, Infosys Limited shared her experience after she passed out from TAPMI and her journey in the corporate world. She shared 8 sutras with the students. She shared that TAPMI can be life changing and will become a pathway to design a great career.

Prof Jeevan J Arakal, discussed the Culture and Philosophy of Academics at TAPMI. Prof Rajiv Shah, Chairperson-PGP, presented the PGP Overview and Guidelines, followed by the guidelines on the hostel and campus presented by Prof. Krishna Prasad. The first day of Induction concluded with faculty introductions.
