The initiative, announced by the Commerce & Transport Department, will benefit candidates travelling to any of the 134 examination centres across the state. Students can avail the free transportation facility by presenting their NEET (UG) Re-Examination 2026 admit card while boarding government-operated buses on the day of the examination.
The state government has directed the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and the Transport Commissioner to make all necessary arrangements on a priority basis to ensure hassle-free travel for candidates. Urban transport services operated by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will also coordinate with district administrations and the Higher Education Department for smooth implementation of the initiative.

According to officials, the decision has been taken to support students, particularly those from economically weaker sections, and to ensure that transportation challenges do not hinder their participation in the national-level medical entrance examination.
The free travel facility is also aimed at protecting students from the prevailing summer heat and ensuring timely access to examination centres across Odisha. The government has instructed authorities to submit daily updates on transport preparedness to ensure seamless operations on the examination day.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of NEET aspirants and reflects the state government's commitment to providing a student-friendly environment during crucial competitive examinations.
